감마 레이 (Gamma Ray) 는 독일 북부 함부르크 출신의 파워 메탈 밴드로 카이 한센 (Kai Hansen) 이
독일의 파워 메탈 밴드 인 헬로윈 (Helloween)을 떠난 후 설립되었습니다.
한센은 현재 리드 보컬리스트이자 기타리스트 이며 감마 레이 (Gamma Ray)의 수석 작곡가이기도합니다.
밴드는 독일의 메탈 부분에서 가장 유명한 밴드 중 하나로 알려져 있습니다.
1988 년, 독일의 파워 메탈 밴드 Helloween 과 4 년을 보낸 이후 기타리스트 이자 작곡가 인 Kai Hansen 은
여전히 많은 논쟁의 대상인 그룹을 떠나기로 결정했습니다.
Hansen은 금융 문제가있는 그룹의 문제와 음반 회사 인 Noise Records 가 가장 중요한 역할을 했음에도
Helloween이 처리하기에는 너무 커 졌다고 주장했습니다.
그는 독일의 파워 메탈 밴드 인 Blind Guardian 과 스튜디오 작업을 진행했으며 1989 년에는 Tyran Pace
밴드의 전직 보컬리스트 인 Ralf Scheepers 와 함께 자신의 프로젝트를 구성하기로 결정했습니다.
이 2 인 프로젝트는 Uwe Wessel ( 베이스)와 Mathias Burchardt (드럼)가 추가 된 4 인조 밴드로 성장했습니다.
이시기는 감마선의 첫 번째 라인업이었으며, 그 시대의 헬로윈 (Helloween)과 비슷한 사운드를 잘 보여줍니다.
